Dental bridges are an extremely effective way to replace one or more missing teeth by utilising the teeth on either side of the gap.

Many people opt for bridges to improve the appearance of their smile but there are other factors to consider.  Leaving a missing tooth can result in a strain being placed on the teeth that remain, as they are no longer supported on either side. The missing tooth may also affect your bite if the remaining teeth move; it can also result in food getting stuck in the space which can lead to both tooth decay and gum disease.

We offer a range of bridge restorations including gold and ceramic.  They look and feel much like your own teeth, because the colour of the restoration can be easily matched to your natural tooth colour. They also resist stains, retain shading and are durable so they will look as good in years to come as they do when you leave our practice.

Bridges traditionally caused damage to healthy supporting teeth, but due to advances in materials the preparation of these teeth to support all-porcelain bridges can in some cases be minimal or none at all.

In some cases we are able to use the CEREC machine to create natural looking ceramic restorations for use in a patient’s bridge. More information on the treatments that are made possible by CEREC can be found here.
